Our Little Mermaid

From the moment that we first put our baby Elison into a bath tub, she relaxed. It became the one thing we knew would calm her down during her early days of colic (or so it seemed, but maybe not.) Once she was in the tub, she was happy. She didn't even mind being splashed, or having water poured over her head.

She liked to practice putting her face in the water...

So for Keith's birthday last year in August, his mom, Diane, paid for swimming classes for Elie! She's been taking them ever since! She loves to be in the water, and has loved her swim classes. There were moments, of course, when she was maybe wary of the teacher, or not as involved, but that never lasted long.

From one of her first classes... so happy!
Just last Friday morning

Also just last Friday... our little mermaid!

I even got to take her once! It was a lot of fun... Elie is so natural in the water that she reminds me of a little mermaid.

She's not smiling in these photos, but that's because she can be quite serious when she's learning something, and absorbing what's around her. However, you'll know it if she's not happy. There's no guessing when THAT happens! She truly is a joy to be around most of the time... and in the water, even more so.

Blessings,

  1. I can't wait to see her at the shore this year. She may be a bit wary of the waves rolling but we can always build a "private pool" like we did last year. And I can make sandcastles this year for her to do with what she pleases. I enjoy the blog and pictures, facebook is not going to happen with me...
